Obituary of Joan A. Falkler
Joan A. (Minschwaner) Falkler, age 73, of Troy, PA, formerly of Wellsboro, PA, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at Bradford County Manor, Troy, PA. Joan was born October 29, 1936 in Trenton, NJ, a daughter of Walter and Gladys (Bowers) Minschwaner. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Edward Falkler. Joan attended Ewing High School and Saint Francis School of Nursing, Trenton, NJ. She worked for several years as a nurse before retiring to Wellsboro nearly 26 years ago. She was a nurses aide at Broad Acres. Joan was an avid reader and a gifted writer, having her poems published locally. It has been heard that she would drive over a mountain and through a blizzard to play a game of Bingo. Joan was a great cook and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, dessert, and vacationing at Wildwood, NJ.
Joan is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Betsy Haldeman of Avoca, PA; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laura Baldwin of Manderin, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Joanie and Jack Williams of Mansfield, PA; 8 grandchildren, Timothy and Lisa Price, William (Robin) Baldwin of Millersburg, PA; Sarah Haldeman, Christopher Baldwin, Jonathan Falkler, Jack and Christal Williams; 4 great-granddaughters, Hannah, Julia, Sofia and Ava Baldwin; 2 great-grandsons, Christian and Caden Falkler; son-in-law, Tom Price of Memphis, TN; sister, Bernice Maze, Pennington, NJ; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and June Minschwaner, Jr. of Wellsboro, PA; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, a daughter, Christal Price in 2002; a son, William Baldwin in 1972; grandchildren, Patrick Baldwin and Richie Haldeman; a brother-in-law, Morris Maise in 2010.
