Obituary of Ruth M. Coons
Ruth M. Coons, age 92, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of Covington, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Ruth was born December 27, 1917 in Blossburg, PA, a daughter of Verne E. and Lola Ellen (Ingerick) Harris. She was the widow of Irwin F. Coons, Sr. who passed away February 21, 1999. Ruth was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church.
Ruth is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Irwin and Joan Coons, Jr. of Wellsboro, PA ; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Ralph LeBlanc of Covington, PA, Anne and Gordon Brooks of Arnot, PA; Karen and James Crooks of Covington, PA; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Irwin; children, Mary Jane Lamonski and Margaret Ruth Hilfiger; grandchildren, Travis Makley, Gordon D. Brooks, Dawn Walter, and David Hilfiger; brothers and sisters, Eloise Bennett, Olin Harris, Bill Harris, Bob Harris, Marian Higley, Helen Bentley, and a son-in-law, Roger Makley.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Archie Wetstone officiating. Burial will be in Gray Cemetery, Covington, PA.
