Obituary of Wilbur K. Wood
Wilbur K. Wood, Sr., age 78, of Mansfield, PA, died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Wilbur was born April 2, 1931 in Elmira, NY, a son of Earl and Gladys (Heater) Wood. He was the husband of Anita M. (Adams) Wood celebrating their 60th anniversary on August 6th, 2009. Wilbur was a farmer, hauled milk for 40 years, and had worked at American LaFrance, Remington Rand and the former A & P plant.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Anita; a son and daughter-in-law, Earl (Joan) Wood of Mansfield, PA; a daughter, Penny Wood of Mansfield, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his mother, Gladys of Mansfield; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Sheila) Wood of Tioga, PA, Charles (Mary) Wood of Elkland, PA, and Richard Wood; a sister, Anna May Hammond of Mansfield, PA. Wilbur was predeceased by two sons, Wilbur K. Wood, Jr, and Floyd Wood, a grandson, Michael E. Wood in 1991, and a brother Delos Wood.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from Noon to 1:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held following the viewing on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Dressler officiating. Burial will be in Jobs Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wilburs memory to the American Diabetes Association, P O.
