DOUGS SONG by Douglas Mickelson, Juliana Newton and James Kopcsak Come on, baby. Grab that oil. Ill rub your tired leather soul. Buff and polish Til you shine. Leave your useless Life behind. This ol cowboys gone to rust. Like the trail, just gone to dust. The sun sinks low With miles to go. With weary hearts, Ride on, we must. Come on, baby. Grab your oil And rub my tired leather soul. I can feel you Through my skin. Give me time To soak you in. This old cowboy needs a range. Life is hard and love is strange. For each goodbye, The price: too high. Just take my heart, And keep the change. Written at Boscos - Summer of 2006 Copyright September 2006

Doug is sorely missed by all of his Nashville friends. He was an exceptional human being: a true gentleman, a gifted artisan and musician, an animal lover, a philosopher and one of the best pool players I've ever met. Safe home, Doug. Godspeed. Julie

Doug was a good friend to me when we were in high school. I really looked up to him. He showed me how to play some guitar and over the years I've worked a lot as a guitar player. He taught me a lot. I last saw him in 1981 in Corning. He might have been having some tough times; I was having some of those myself then. I hope his road got to be easier going over the years. I wish he and I had found each other again. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and with Doug as well. Truly, Mike
