Obituary of Margaret H. Launius

Dr. Margaret H. Launius, age 58, of Mansfield, PA, died on Monday, November 15, 2010 at her home. Margaret was born on January 27, 1952 in Ross, CA, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Grant) Goldener. She was married to Bruce W. Launius. A Professor of Psychology at Mansfield University for 21 years, Margaret was a superb teacher, scholar, mentor, advisor to students, and a treasured colleague at the university. She challenged students to achieve their absolute best, teaching and leading by the example of her life. Margaret was a member of the Tioga Co. Womens Coalition, and extremely active in womens issues on campus. She enjoyed crocheting, reading mysteries, birding, spending time with her family, her Blue Merle Shelties and Papillions puppies. In addition to her husband of 33 years, Bruce, and mother, Mary, Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marlo Marie Mann Paxson of Camp Hill, PA; sister, Ellen Goldener Bingel of Sebastopol, CA and brother, Rob Goldener of CA. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
