Obituary of Gladys M. Schirmer

Gladys M. (Brooks) Schirmer, age 85, of Mansfield, PA, died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at her home. Gladys was the wife of the late Frederick W. Schirmer for 62 years. She was born on September 21, 1925, a daughter of Milton and Ruby Brooks. Gladys was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed at Blossburg Hospital, L & S Electronics, Eddies Restaurant, and Mister Donut, Mansfield. Gladys is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Thomas Mazzuchi, of Fairfax, VA; four grandchildren, Sara (Joseph) Pranio, Thomas (Michelle) Mazzuchi, Jr., Joel Mazzuchi, Molly Mazzuchi; a brother and sister-in-law, Darwin (Rose) Brooks of Mansfield; a sister, Ruby Ogden of Mansfield; two great grandchildren, Sophia and Julian Pranio. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jean Schirmer in 1965, her husband, Frederick W. Schirmer in 2007, her parents, six brothers and sisters. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Schafer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA.
