Obituary of Kenneth L. Watkins

Kenneth L. Watkins age 87 of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of Covington, PA, died Sunday, July 19, 2009 in the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. He was the husband of the late Helen (Bellinger) Watkins who died in 1973. Kenneth was born on October 17, 1921 in Blossburg, PA a son of Travis and Ida (Mase) Watkins. He was a truck driver and worked for numerous trucking companies including the former Johnsons Truck Lines. Kenneth was a US Army veteran having served in WWII. He enjoyed watching old war movies , westerns and Clint Eastwood . Kenneth is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Bonnie Watkins of Covington,PA, Walter Watkins of Westfield, PA, Edward Watkins of Wellsboro, PA, Ricky and Gail Watkins of Liberty, PA, three grandchildren; Michelle, Jennifer and Richie; four great grandchildren and a sister and brother-in-law, June and Dick Draxler of Pine City, NY. In addition to his wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by two sons, Mahlon in 1969 in Vietnam, Kenneth Jr. in 1952, a daughter Virginia in 1982, three brothers and five sisters. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home .
