Obituary of Russell L. Young
Russell L. Young, age 80, of Tioga, PA, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Russell was born September 10, 1928 in Farmington Twp., Tioga County, PA, a son of Floyd, Sr. and Genie (Finch) Young. Russell was married to his wife of 62 years, Betty J. (Enderle) Young. Russell retired from Corning Glass Works in 1983 after 36 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his four-wheeler, square dancing, round dancing, listening to the Harold Benjamin and the Country Boys Band, and spending time with his family.
Russell is survived by his wife, Betty; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael E and Mary Young of Elkland, PA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Doris M. and Richard Schmidt of Farmington Twp., Delores A. and Allen Arnold of Nelson Twp., Judy M. Shine and friend James LaShure of Painted Post, NY; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd Junnie and Virginia Young, Jr. of Mansfield, PA; a sister, Gertrude Whitney of Farmington Twp.; sister-in-law, Alberta Young.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the viewing at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Berg officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, PA.
