Obituary of Joel J. Scarinci
Joel J. Scarinci, age 80, of Troy, PA, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at his residence. Joel was born August 16, 1928 in Plainfield, NJ, a son of Michael and Mary (Schirrippa) Scarinci. He was the husband of Justine (Warriner) Scarinci. He and his wife were avid golfers. Joel was a self-made craftsman and the sixth generation in his family business, Joel J. Scarinci Furniture Decorators. He brought racket ball to Wellsboro when he built the Wellsboro Racket Ball Club. Joel was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
Joel is survived by his wife, Justine of Troy, PA; a son, Joel Mark Scarinci; two daughters and a son-in-law, Roxanne Sage of Hillsboro, NJ, Kathleen and Daniel Riley of Valparaiso, IN; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Fran Scarinci of NJ, Albert and Eileen Scarinci of Scotch Plains, NJ; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Noreen and Neil McCallum of NJ, Marie Cookie Evans of West Palm Beach, FL. He was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Michael Scarinci.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, April 20, 2009 from Noon to 2:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Darwin Tink Cranmer officiating.
