Obituary of Paul Henry Wood
Paul Henry Wood, age 80, of Columbia Cross Road, PA, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Bath, NY. Paul was born June 22, 1928 in Tioga, PA, a son of Leon and Hazel (Dunning) Wood. Paul graduated from Tioga Central School and was a substitute agricultural teacher. He had worked on several area farms from the age of 13. Paul was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War, and served with the Military Police in the Occupation Army in Germany. He retired from GE as a crane operator.
Paul is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lockeri Wood of Roseville, PA, Ed and Cindy Wood of Granville, PA, Jack and Robbi Wood of Troy, PA, Mike Wood of Tioga, PA, Larry and Marion Wood of Little Marsh, PA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bill Gernert of Troy, PA, Sue Tomko of Towanda, PA, Linda and Ron Morgan of Troy, PA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Donald Kraft of Bath, NY, Dorothy Sumner of Wellsboro, PA, Ann and Cliff Truax of Erin, NY; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Wood, and sisters, Leona Treat, Betty Colony, and Nancy Lucille Wood.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Berg officiating.
