Obituary of Douglas E Thomas

Douglas E. Thomas, Sr., age 79, of Mansfield, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, March 1, 2009 with his loving wife at his side. He was born April 8, 1929 in Nelson, PA, a son of Clarence and Mary Thomas. Douglas was married to Ruth D. (Sargent) Thomas with whom he would have celebrated a 62nd anniversary on April 21st. He was owner of C & T Manufacturing. He was a member of the former Lambs Creek Bible Church. Douglas enjoyed hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Douglas is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children, Terry Thomas of Mansfield, Michael Thomas of Mansfield, Dave (Pam) Thomas of Morris Run, Joy (Thomas R.) Cummings of Mansfield, Douglas (Jody) Thomas of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Mike, Chris (Pam), Erick (Nicole), Chad (Erica), Laura, Josh (Amy), Erin, and Jake; five great grandchildren, Alexus, Collin, Layne, Kendall and Joel; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Lorraine Thomas of Millville, PA, Lee Reed of Wyoming, Robert and Nancy Thomas of Mainesburg, PA, Clifford and Essie Thomas of Mansfield, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Wayne Strange of Mainesburg, PA; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Irene Dunkleburger, and a brother, Arnold Thomas. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Cal Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA.
