Obituary of Ralph B. Rathbun
Ralph B. Rathbun, age 85, of Tioga, PA, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Ralph was born December 26, 1923, a son of Lee and Kate (Phillips) Rathbun. Ralph was an avid gardener, always proud of his fruits and vegetables. He always grew the most beautiful flowers as well. Ralph was a veteran of WWII where he received a purple heart for injuries he sustained during the war. Ralph retired from Corning Glass Works.
Ralph leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Darleen (Bennett) Rathbun; a son, Rex Lee Rathbun of Gouldsboro, PA; two daughters, Kathryn Kay Hassan (Joe) Davis of Gouldsboro, PA, and Jacqueline Jackie (Bourke) Casey of Savona, NY; four grandchildren, Autumn Dean, Shae Rathbun, Corey Rathbun and Cody Tombs; two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Aldine and Shirley, and a brother, Rick.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph McNamara officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
