Obituary of Henry F. Bowen
Henry F. Hank Bowen, age 75, of Mansfield, PA, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in the Carleton Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro, PA. Hank was born on February 24, 1934 in Scranton, PA, the son of George and Marion Bowen.
Prior to his retirement, Hank was employed as a loan manager for Household Finance Company. He served with the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a local businessman in Mansfield. He was an avid collector at Department 56.
Hank is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Deborah and Greg Calkins of Mansfield, PA, Laurie and Don Frey of Cleveland, OH, Jennifer Sullivan of Perksie, PA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Barry Bowen of Mansfield, PA, Larry and Debbie Bowen of Mansfield, PA; one brother, David Bowen of Grand Forks, ND; a sister-in-law, Ceil Bowen of Chinchilla, PA; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Marc Calkins in 1979, his parents and three brothers: George, Russell and Lee Bowen.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM with Rev. Chris Schafer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Hanks name to the Alzheimers Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
