Obituary of Doris L. Hazlett

Doris L. Hazlett, age 78, died on Monday, December 7, 2009 in Thomas Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Doris was born on December 11, 1930 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of John and Eula (Spencer) Swimlear. She was predeceased by her husband, Royce C. Hazlett in 1994. Prior to her retirement, Doris was employed as a cashier and assistant to the butcher at Brackleys Market and had previously worked at Sterling Cole. Doris is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve Corky and Marybess Hazlett of Tioga, PA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Rob Abel of Lawrenceville, PA, Linda Gardner of Bloomsburg, PA, Tina and Rusty Tomlinson of Stephen City, VA; one sister, Joyce Rosekrans of Horseheads, NY; four grandchildren, Brian, Brett, Tiffany,Todd and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Royce, she was predeceased by a great grandson, Mason Elijah Abel in 2005 and two sisters, Florence Stevens and June Catenzzo. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home immediately following calling hours at 3:00 PM with Pastor Debra Button officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Doris name to Mansfield Senior Center, Home Delivered Meals, 1103 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA 16933.
