Obituary of Betty Dibble
Betty Dibble, age 83, of Wellsboro, PA, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Betty was born May 5, 1926 in Potter Brook, PA, a daughter of Robert and Stella (Cratsley) Sherman. She and her husband, Lyman Dibble, owned and operated a dairy farm in Harrison Valle, PA. Her passion was being a farmers wife and mother, and her favorite hobbies were reading and needlework.
Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Susan Dibble of Lebanon, PA, Scott and Rosanne Dibble of Mansfield, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Erich Hahn of Brookline, NH; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip and Pat Sherman of NC, Larry and Nancy Sherman of PA; a sister, Dorothy Amend of SC; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lyman, a son, Dana Dibble in 1976, a granddaughter, Rhonda Dibble, two brothers, Maynard Sherman, and Robert Sherman, Jr.
In keeping with Bettys wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bettys memory to the Green Free Library, 134 Main St., Wellsboro, PA 16901. The Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S.
