Just a few moments ago I was saddened to learn of John's passing. As an anesthesiologist, I don't often get to know my patients very well. John was an exception to that rule. I took care of him in the OR a number of times. When he was just visiting the hospital for an appointment, he frequently made it a point to send me a few kind words, and even a book with a thoughtful inscription. I will always remember him as a kind, courageous, and thoughtful man. My prayers are with you John. Kyra Bannister
