Obituary of Ivan B. Erway
Ivan B. Erway, age 84, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his home. He was born on October 26, 1939 in Blossburg, PA, the son of Lyle and Callie (Ingalls) Erway. Ivan was married to the late Kay (Cavanaugh) Erway who passed away on March 7, 2018. He was self-employed as a farmer and a bus driver / contractor for Southern Tioga School District. Ivan was a Deacon Emeritus of Cherry Flats Baptist Church. He enjoyed driving tractor, telling stories, and sewing. Ivan was a veteran of the United States Army.
Ivan is survived by his sons, Ivan J. (Rosemary) Erway of Covington, PA, and Paul (Jennifer) Erway of Covington, PA; a daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" (Phil) Pecuch of Little River, SC; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Callie (Lyell) Drake of Lyndonville, NY, and Katie Freeman of Enoree, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife; and four siblings.
Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 6-8pm at Cherry Flats Baptist Church 2291 Cherry Flats Rd. Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held on Friday June 21, 2024 at 11am at the church with Pastor James Schmidt officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cherry Flats Baptist Church. Burial will take place in Tioga County Memorial Gardens. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
