Obituary of Joseph Jay Hall
Joseph Jay "Joey" Hall, age 69, of Canton, PA, passed away at his home on Friday, May 3, 2024. He was born on July 27, 1954, in Blossburg, PA, a son of Thomas and Madeline Marie (Giombolini) Hall. Joey spent time with his uncle and aunt, Walt and Vera Hall, along with his special cousins, Paul Hall, Delores Smith, and Marilyn Wells. He then lived for many years in Futures. His infectious smile and exuberant nature earned him numerous friends and acquaintances wherever he went. Joey loved to spend time with his brother Scott during Thanksgiving and at the homes of his special cousin, Paula Hall (Rob) Jones and their girls, and his bonus family Tom and Mary Brown, and their daughter, Kim Brown. He always enjoyed walking and visiting with whomever he met along the way. Joe also loved his visits at Sugar Branch lake with his family.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all of Joey's caretakers at Futures, who became his friends, the members of his church in Athens and Lindley Community Church, Tom and Mary Brown and their daughter, Kim, who made him a part of their family.
Joey is survived by his brothers, Thomas Hall of Alaska, and Scott Hall of Archibald, PA; cousins, Delores (Dennis) Smith of Lindley, NY, and Marilyn (Allen) Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Madeline; cousin, Paul Hall; uncle and aunt, Walt and Vera Hall; special friends, Tom and Mary Brown, and his girlfriend, Sharon Forbes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Beeman's Restaurant, 1356 Elmira St., Sayre, PA. Burial will be in Farmington Hill Cemetery.
