Obituary of Richard A. Pino I.
Richard A. Dick Pino, I., age 60, of Covington, PA, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 3, 1948 in Blossburg, PA, a son of John and Betty (Johnston) Pino of Covington, PA.
Richard was employed with Dalrymple Gravel & Contracting Company as a heavy equipment operator. During the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1973, he served on the U.S. Navys Presidential Ship. He was a member of the Arnot Sportsmans Club and the White Tail Lodge Hunting Club. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman having caught the Pennsylvania record Crappie in 2001.
In addition to his father, John Pino, he is survived by a son, Richard Dick A. Pino, II of Blossburg, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole Nickie and James Thall of Middlebury Center, PA, Bell R. and Rick Johnson of Covington, PA; four grandchildren, Dillon J. and Korey Thall, Alex and Ashlee Johnson; his former wife and mother of his children, Mary L. (Giles) Pino of Middlebury Center, PA; a brother, Jack Pino; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Susan Tokarz, Dianne and William Linam and Glenda Moore.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Richard Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Niles Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Richards name to The American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
