Obituary of Sheyenne Virginia Sue Hassler
Sheyenne Virginia Sue Hassler, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at UPMC Wellsboro. She was born on September 11, 2023, in Elmira, NY, a daughter of David and Nicole (Newswanger) Hassler.
Since the beginning of her life, Sheyenne has faced numerous ongoing medical complications that resulted in an extended NICU stay, surgery, medications, and lots of doctor appointments. Despite all of this, Sheyenne was a fighter and would recover from every setback even stronger. She quickly won the hearts of medical staff, family, friends and even those she never got the chance to meet. Sheyenne loved to wiggle, coo, smile and play with her favorite crinkle book and stuffed pig. She was feisty and wasn't afraid to express how she felt, oftentimes through her many facial expressions. Sheyenne was a joy to be around and brought life, beauty and purpose to each day. In her brief time here on earth, Sheyenne has made an eternal impression in our lives and on our hearts. In the grief of her passing, we find rest knowing that she is fully restored and with our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Sheyenne is survived by her parents; and her grandparents, Dwane and Karey Newswanger of Bainbridge, PA, James and Loretta Hassler of Pottstown, PA, and Keith and Cindee Hill of Belle Vernon, PA along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
