Obituary of Ernest Lee Brion
Ernest Lee "Sonny" Brion, Jr., age 84, of Liberty, PA, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital. He was born on March 24, 1939, in Williamsport, PA, a son of Ernest Lee and Margaret (Kilpatrick) Brion. Sonny married the love of his life, Nola, on March 5, 1961. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1957. Ernest was often heard saying that he was a Jack of all trades and a master of none. Sonny worked on his father's farm along with his brothers. He enjoyed time spent at family picnics at the pond and pavilion, the many cruises that he and his wife took, especially the one to the Caribbean with most of their family. Sonny and Nola were snowbirds, and enjoyed living in Largo, Florida during the winters. He often recounted his exploits with his Chevy Belair cars, motorcycles and farm machinery. Sonny enjoyed working on numerous projects, such as his home-built dune buggy, his Corvette, and the 1926 Chrysler model 60 sedan, along with many other projects that piqued his interest.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Nola; children, Tammy (Barry) Jackson, Matt (Wendy) Brion, and Danny (Susan) Brion; grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Jackson, Rachael (Quentin) Clark, Jamie Brion, Carissa Brion, Chad (Emily) Brion, Josh (Destiny) Brion; great grandchildren, Bailey, Parker, Garron, Maverick, Rylee, and Jacoby; four sisters, Lois, Betty, Carolyn, and Peggy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Russell, Donald, and Eugene.
