Obituary of Marcia G. Chappell

Marcia G. Chappell, age 92 of Tioga, PA passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Springfield Township, Bradford County, PA, a daughter of the late William and Julia (Murray) Horning. She worked at the A& P Plant in Horseheads, NY and at the Williamson High School Cafeteria in Tioga, PA. She is a member of the Holliday Alliance Church. Marcia welcomed many into her home throughout the years. In her early years she was a member of a bowling league, Bill and Dave have fond memories of washing dishes on Wednesday nights. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking, puzzles, camping trips with friends and just being with her family. She is survived by; sons, William Chappell of Millerton, David (Patty) Chappell of Millerton, Danny Chappell of Tioga; daughter, LuAnn (Bob) Wheeler of Tioga; grandchildren, Daran (Darcie), Lindsay (Fred), Blair, Jordan, Chance, Katelyn (Vinny) and five great-grandchildren; many special nieces, nephews, a canine companion, Cocoa, and special friend, Sally DeMay. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Lewis; a grandson, Chad Chappell; six sisters, Helen Smith, (Troy, PA), Hilda Marks (AZ), Ester Kennedy (FL), Minnie Kenndy (FL), Linda Massman (NM), Nancy Merritt (Troy, PA); and four brothers; Merle Horning, Jake Horning (Troy, PA,) John Horning, (Mansfield, PA), Duane Horning, (Middlebury Center, PA). A private memorial service will be held at the family's convenience. Memorial contributions may be made in Marcia's name to the Holliday Alliance Church, 33 Oakwood Drive, Middlebury Center, PA 16935, attention Reverend Samuel Seaman. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Middlebury Center, PA. 16935. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA 16933.
