Obituary of Lamont H. Nicholas
Lamont "Monty" H. Nicholas, age 84, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA. Monty was born in Kintnersville, PA on January 30, 1939, a son of John H. and Caroline (Hall) Nicholas. He grew up and lived most of his life in Riegelsville, PA. Monty was married for 52 years to the late Virginia N. Nicholas, who passed away on August 20, 2013. Monty was a 1956 graduate of Easton Area High School, where he played baseball. He worked as an electrician for New Jersey Power and Light for over 30 years. Monty enjoyed golfing, walking, watching sports, being with his family and friends and was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports.
Monty is survived by his son, Michael (Helen Chambers) Nicholas of Bloomsburg, PA; a daughter, Joanne (Jonathan) Shaw of Mainesburg, PA; and three grandchildren, J.P., Cooper, and Elaina Shaw. He was preceded in death by his wife; and a brother, John Arthur "Art" Nicholas.
Family and friends are invited to A Celebration of Life in the upstairs of the Thin Line Tavern, 21 North Main Street, Mansfield, PA, on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
