Obituary of Richard Champaign
Richard "Rick" L. Champaign, age 65 of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at UPMC Williamsport after a brief illness. Richard was born September 10, 1958, in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Hugh and Rita (Bellinger) Champaign. He had been employed by Ward Manufacturing and Buttonwood Lumber Company, was a life member of the Wellsboro Fire Department and ambulance, and enjoyed auctions, hunting, fishing, his canine buddy Koda, and spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Melissa (Rematt) Champaign, a son, Douglas (Nicole) Champaign of Wellsboro, PA; daughter Lynn Ann Champaign of Wellsboro, PA; grandson Levi Champaign; brothers Gary (Cindy) Champaign of Wellsboro, PA, James (Connie) Champaign of Roaring Branch, PA, and David Champaign of Wellsboro, PA; mother and father-in-law Thomas and Nancy Rematt of Hastings, PA; and brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main Street, Mansfield PA. The Tioga County Fireman's Association Honor Guard will be doing a presentation at 3:00 PM with a funeral service immediately following the presentation with Rev. Harry J. Colegrove officiating.
