Obituary of Lois Mathewson

Lois Mathewson, age 93 of Roseville, PA, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 21, 2023. She died peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy chronic illness. Lois was born December 5, 1929 in Worthington, PA, a daughter of William and Mildred (Claypoole) Bundy. She met her husband Ivan when they were both attending Practical Bible Training School in New York. They recently celebrated 72 years of marriage. Lois was happy to be a wife and mother. She loved the Lord, and as a pastor's wife she served by teaching Sunday School and playing piano. She is lovingly remembered by her family for her wonderful cooking and baked goods. Lois is survived by her husband, Ivan; daughters Kathy (Chris) Anthony, Joyce (Mike) Lowe, and Eileen (Rob) Lake; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings Gladys Abernathy, Harold (Penny) Bundy, Nancy Croyle, Dorothy (Duane) Braughler, Marlin (Marie) Bundy, Morris (Carol) Bundy of VA, Robert (Sherri) Bundy, Karen (Tom) Robb, and Gregory (Marion) Bundy. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Mildred, brother Willard Bundy and sisters Claire Hindley and Linda Smith. Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, April 27 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bakerburg Community Church, 197 Gray Valley Rd, Mainesburg, PA 16932. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Binkley officiating. All are invited to a luncheon at the church following the service. Lois will be laid to rest at the Roseville Community Cemetery, Roseville PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bakerburg Community Church mission fund.
