Obituary of Arloween L. Thornton
Arloween L. Thornton, age 88, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA. She was born on September 9, 1934, a daughter of Kenneth and Alta (Maxson) Adams. Arloween was married to the late Paul Thornton for 70 years. She was a member of Bakerburg Community Church and enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, her grandchildren and friends.
Arloween is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Marea) Thornton of Mansfield, PA, Ronald (Donna) Thornton of Strongsville, OH, and Philip (Paula) Thornton of Export, PA; two daughters, Paula (Tom) Doak of Pine Valley, NY, and Jennifer Thornton of Wilmington, NC; twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Alan Thornton; a brother, Lloyd Adams; and a sister, Lucille Stimpson.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 25 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bakerburg Community Church, 197 Gray Valley Road, Mainesburg, PA. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon at 12:00 PM. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S.
