Obituary of Colie J. Dyke
Colie J. Dyke, age 76, of Wellsboro, PA, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Colie was born August 6, 1931 in Mansfield, PA, a son of Durward L. and Leona M. (Comfort) Dyke. He was the husband of Betty (Hartzell) Dyke with whom he would have celebrated 46 years of marriage on July 18th. Colie was a retired logger. He was a member of the Wellsboro VFW, and a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War.
Colie is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters and a son-in-law, Terry and Jay Horton of Elmira, NY, Virginia (Edward) Huck of Wellsboro, PA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Colie R. Bucky and Sarah Dyke of Ocoee, FL, James M. (Marsha) Dyke of Ocoee, FL; very special granddaughter Nicole Abplanalp (John Paul) Zisk of Elmira, NY, grandsons Jeffrey A. Horton of Elmira, NY, Austin L. Horton of Elmira, NY; five additional grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia Dyke Gerow of Morris Run, PA, Frances L. Dyke Jayne of Mansfield, PA, and Peggy J. (Jim) Blanchard of Georgia; several nieces and nephews. Colie was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Dyke, two brothers, Robert A. Dyke and Durwood L. Sonny Dyke.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
