Obituary of Andrew Bogaczyk
Andrew "Andy" C. Bogaczyk, age 92, of Tioga, PA, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at The Gatehouse in Williamsport, PA, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 12, 1930, in Covington Township, PA, a son of Ferdinand "Fred" and Rose (Kordyl) Bogaczyk. Andy was married to Miriam (Houghtaling) Bogaczyk for 67 years. He was a Korean War veteran in the US Army, an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance, was a real estate agent as well as a Justice of the Peace. Andy was a member of the Holy Child Catholic Church. He had a legendary sense of humor and was a longtime avid NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing cards and spending as much time as possible with his family. He was beloved by his entire extended family and enjoyed spending time at Camp, which was his family homestead. He was instrumental in starting the Tioga Little League and coached Babe Ruth and American Legion Baseball teams in Tioga, PA. Andy was also a member of the American Legion in Morris Run and the VFW in Blossburg.
Andy is survived by his wife; children, Ron (Terri) Bogaczyk of Davenport, FL, Garry Bogaczyk of Dallastown, PA, Mike (Jody) Bogaczyk of Mansfield, PA, Pete (Sue) Bogaczyk of Carlisle, PA, Gene (Terri) Bogaczyk of Underhill, VT, Ted (Carla) Bogaczyk of Tioga, PA, Mindy (Rick) Lodwig of Parker, CO, Luann (Mark) Carhart of Victor, NY; fourteen grandchildren: Pam Bogaczyk, Zack Bogaczyk, Andrew Bogaczyk, Stephanie Mosher, Matt Bogaczyk, Jake Bogaczyk, Annie Bogaczyk, Emily Wheeler, Dustin Bogaczyk, Tanner Bogaczyk, Abbey Lodwig; Lindsey Lodwig, Sean Carhart and Gavin Carhart; fifteen great grandchildren; and five sisters, Lottie Nelcoski of Elmira, NY, Pauline "Tiny" Plank of Tioga, PA, Rosemary (Gary) Adams of Pine City, NY, JoAnn (Jack) Gutshall of Vestal, NY and Diane (Arland) Wood of Elmira, NY. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Fred, and Paul Bogaczyk; and three sisters, Veronica Wojcik , Irene Frey and Julia McKerrow.
Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 9am-11am at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church 138 St. Mary's St. Blossburg, PA with Reverend Bryan Wright as celebrant.
