Obituary of David L. Burkholder
David L. Burkholder, age 79, of Mansfield, PA, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. David was the husband of Thelma (Nolt) Burkholder for 56 years. He was born November 3, 1928 in Leacock, PA, a son of David L. and Anna Ruth (Keller) Burkholder. David retired from Burkholder Garage where he was a mechanic. He was a member of the P. J. Bair Post 7418, Veterans of Foreign Wars Home Assoc. of Gap, PA. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
David is survived by his wife, Thelma; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn Brooks and Sandra Burkholder of Paradise, PA, Troy Rendel and Heather Burkholder of Mansfield, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen Lynette and Jim Kennel of CO, Marlene Kay and John Riehl of Strasburg, PA; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Vera Burkholder of Farmersville, PA, John and Dawn Burkholder of FL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Bill Ressler of Leola, PA, Mary and Elvin McMichaels of New Providence, PA. He was preceded in death by a son, David Scott Burkholder on July 10, 2004, a sister, Alma Carper, three brothers, Elvin, Ira and Art Burkholder.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, June 13th, 2008 at 1:30 PM at Indiantown Gap VA National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Davids memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jacquelyn A.
