Obituary of Ransom H. Bowen
Ransom H. Ranny Bowen, age 76 of Wellsboro, PA, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Ranny was born on March 22, 1932 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of the late Howard and Alberta (VanOrder) Bowen. He was married to Audrey H. (Kendrick) Bowen.
Ranny was self-employed as a dairy farmer. He was a member of the Arnot Sportsmens Club, the U-Climb Hunting Club in Sinnemahoning, was an avid hunter and enjoyed his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Audrey, Ranny is survived by three sons and daughters-in law; Rick L. and Charlotte Bowen of Longmont, CO, Ransom Rance W. and Crystal Bowen of Wellsboro, PA, Russell D. and Nancy Bowen of Lykens, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Rene J. and Freal Perry of Wellsboro, PA; four grandchildren: Clint Perry, Carly (Gary) Bowen-Clark, Allie Bowen, Chase Bowen; one great grandson, Dru Clark; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Janice Bowen and Gary and Barbara Bowen of Wellsboro, PA; a special Aunt Orpha Lundgren of Wellsboro, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Ranny was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Bird.
In keeping with Rannys wishes, a private memorial service will be held at the Cherry Flats Baptist Church with the Rev. James Jim Hill officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ransoms name to either the Cherry Flats Baptist Church or Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in the Welsh Settlement Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jacquelyn A.
