Obituary of Elena A. Nicholas
Elena A. (O'Donnell) Nicholas, age 81, of Mainesburg, PA, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was born on August 26, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Raymond and Katherine O'Donnell. Elena was the wife of Donald S. Nicholas, Sr. She worked in the Saint Frances Church offices in Wanaque, NJ, where she also served as president of the mothers' club and was a member of the Rosary Society. Elena was an extraordinary minister of the Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield, PA.
Elena is survived by her husband, Donald; sons, Donald S. Nicholas, Jr. of Mansfield, PA, Michael R. Nicholas of Bluffton, SC, and Brian A. Nicholas and his wife, Stacy, of Hillsborough, NJ; daughter, Lisa A. Colyer and her husband Todd of Middlebury Center, PA; grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Amelia, and Mia (Charlotte); brother, Raymond O'Donnell of Lincoln Park, NJ; sister, Kathy Hagovsky and her husband Joseph of Hellertown, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert O'Donnell.
Friends and family are invited to call from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Holy Child Catholic Church, 242 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA, with Reverend Bryan Wright as celebrant. Burial will take place in Blossburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org). www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
