Obituary of Joan Read

Joan (Mase) Read, age 84, of Mansfield, PA passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at UPMC hospital in Williamsport, PA. She was born on August 15, 1938, in Blossburg, PA, a daughter of Raymond and Genevieve (Williams) Mase. Joan was the wife of the late Bradford Read who passed away in 2016. She worked as an executive secretary and enjoyed flowers, gardening, playing bingo, bowling and collecting bird figurines. Joan is survived by her sisters, Janet VanNoy of Mansfield, PA, and Carol (Robert) Thomas of Big Flats, NY and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Brad; sisters, Sally Payne, Dorothy Jones, Marion Alexander, Betty Edwards, Evelyn Lovejoy, Lois Vandeventer, and brother, Robert Mase. In keeping with Joan's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made in Joan's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) or to your local SPCA (www.aspca.org).
