I'm so very lucky to have met him and learned so many things about my father from him, as they were high school pals and beyond. He was handsome, funny, sarcastic, but mostly proud of his boys. Hugs to all of you, but know he is with your mom watching over you.....

I will always remember my Uncle Bernie for his love that he showed to people in so many different ways. He had a firm voice and got things done because he was a hard-working man. He helped many people, his family, friends, and community. He was the mayor of Mainesburg because he wanted his town to look nice and he helped to get things done. Some people didn't know how to take him but I can say he had a big heart. One of many special memories that I will never forget is when he walked me down the aisle when my dad was too sick to do it. He made sure that day was very special for me. I will always remember the long talks, and I will never forget his grin and smile that he used to give me.
Prayers and Thoughts sent to the family.

My brother-in-law Bernie was one of a kind. You never knew quite how to take him, was he being serious or was he just kidding!! He will be sorely missed by all of us. He loved playing cards, pitching shoes, and letting out a bellow now and then. Oh, he will be missed but he is in a better place with his Hazel, he missed her dearly. My heart goes out to the Cole family.

Bernie could always throw around a good joke and took one well too. I will never forget, back in 1995, Bernie and Hazel had me over for a big meal of pork and cabbage. They fed an army that day!!! They always treated me like family and it will never be forgotten. Love to all of the Cole boys and their families.
