Obituary of John Martin Woelfel

John Martin Woelfel, age 69, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Guthrie Troy Community Hospital in Troy, PA. He was born on March 9, 1953, the son of Lewis and Ruth (Gow) Woelfel. John was married to OnaLee (Nickerson Matteson) Woelfel. He worked as a farmer, teacher, real estate agent, and deputy game warden. John also worked for Walmart and the Middlebury Milk Plant. He was a member of the Mainesburg United Methodist Church. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and the county fairs. John is survived by his wife; his adopted children, Chad Lewis Martin Woelfel of Mainesburg, PA, Michaela Woelfel of Mansfield, PA, Todd (Almena) Woelfel of Mansfield, PA, Rose Woelfel of NJ; his stepchildren, Carol (Rick) Correll of Mansfield, PA, Michael Tice of Mainesburg, PA, Donald Lee (Lois) Tice of Mainesburg, PA, Joseph (Carol) Tice of Mainesburg, PA, Jonathan (Jennifer) Tice of Mainesburg, PA; special friends, Doug (Carla) Stone of Mansfield, PA, Austyn Morgan of Mainesburg, PA, and Leilani Destefani of Middlebury Center, PA; twenty one grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one cousin, Barb Quinter of Harleysville, PA. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 2-4pm at Mainesburg United Methodist Church 100 Smith Park Rd. Mainesburg, PA 16932. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mainesburg United Methodist Church. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
