So sorry to learn of this loss. Steve was a fixture at Mansfield for a good portion of my time at the university. He was a friendly, caring person who always had something positive to contribute. My sincere condolences to Steve's family and friends. He was a good man.

I met Tipps through mike and Mark. I was often referred to as you g john from across the street. He wasn't around a lot by the time family got to spfld, but it was fun when he came to town. He introduced me to firesign theatre, among other things. Great guy with slightly off kilter view of things, slighy?slightly? I meant quite. Sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

I met Steve in 1984 when I began a job with Head Start, which was housed at MU. He was very dedicated to his profession + expertise in the area of Children + families. He was stern, yet fair with his students. Chris, my son, Jason had a couple play dates with you when you were young children. Whenever I ran into Steve in Mansfield, (usually at a local venue hosting music), he would always be so proud filling me in on his kid's accomplishments. My condolences to his family.

I met The Professor (my nickname for him) through his daughter. We he came out to Denver to visit his daughter (when she was living here) he was able to hang with the young kids that we were. Making jokes and running around town. We talked a lot about music. He had a vast knowledge of present and past music. He even made me a few copies of some albums that were his favorites. This helped open my world to Jazz, Bules, and other music that I would never think of getting into, but now love. We were able to go to a few live shows together like Spoon (on my Birthday) The English Beat, and one of my favorites Eric Johnson. His sense of humor always had me laughing. His legacy will live on through his children.

I only knew Steve a few years through our Friday night suppers but I liked him very much. He talked of his children with a lot of love and admiration for them, and talked about his love of music. My brother had him in college and said he was a great teacher. I am sorry for his passing, he will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family.
