Obituary of Hart Schoonmaker
Hart Schoonmaker, Jr., age 77, of Lawrenceville, PA, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Hart was born October 20, 1930 in New York, NY, a son of Hart and Erma (Aldrich) Schoonmaker, Sr. He was the husband of Mildred S. Millie (Boice) Schoonmaker. Hart graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1959 with a BS in Engineering. He worked as an engineer in industry for many years before owning and operating a successful machine shop, TABI for 21 years. Hart was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Town of Newburg American Legion Post 1420, Inc., enjoyed woodworking, gardening, tinkering, computers, transcribing his grandfathers poems, his family and grandchildren.
Hart is survived by his wife, Millie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Marcella Schoonmaker of Gansevoort, NY, David and Stefanie Schoonmaker of Apex. NC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lora and Steve Dewey of Painted Post, NY, Susan and William Dwyer of Hollis NH; six grandchildren, Cahlan, Lauren, Adam, Keri, Michael and Nolan; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Schoonmaker of Glenmore PA, Berne and Ruth Schoonmaker of Brentwood, CA.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. G. Victor Perry, officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Cemetery. Due to allergies, the family respectfully declines flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Harts memory to the East Lawrence Baptist Church Youth Program, East Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, PA 16929. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lattingtown Christian Center, Old Indian Road, Milton, NY with the Rev. David Ballou officiating.
