Obituary of Althea Marie Keeney
Althea (Tyler) Keeney, age 69, of Millerton, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born on September 29, 1952, in Sayre, PA, to Arthur and Elsie (Laninger) Tyler I. Althea loved spending time with her family and friends, camping, country music, and crafting. She worked as a school bus driver, floral designer and retired from Tops Market where she worked as a cashier for many years.
Althea is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Warren Keeney; daughters, Starlene (Mike) Shoemaker of Tioga, PA, Bobby Jo (Matt) Gontarz of Millerton; three grandchildren; Desirae Swan, Shelby Gontarz, and Owen Gontarz, as well as many siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Arthur Tyler II: her sister, Machele Govern; and special uncle and aunt, Redford and Ruth Covey.
Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 10am-12pm at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will follow at 12pm with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery in Caton, NY.
