Obituary of Luella M. McKay
Luella M. McKay, age 92, of Mainesburg, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. Luella was wife of the late Harry T. McKay, Sr. who passed away May 13, 1987. She was born December 26, 1915 in Tioga County, a daughter of Walter and Eula (McCarty) ODell. Luella was a member of the Bakerburg Community Church. Luellas favorite hobbies were sewing, baking bread, canning, gardening, and being a homemaker.
Luella is survived by a son, Harry T. McKay, Jr. of Roseville, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris L. and Richard Arzberger of Mainesburg, PA, Lucy and Joe Sargeant, of Mansfield, PA; two sisters, Ella Mae Palmer of Wellsboro, PA, and Dorothy Jean Meeka of Conn.; eight grandchildren, Candy (Jamie) Spencer, Ginger (Rodney) Spencer, Dusty (Robert) Frost, Rusty (Tammy) Sherman, Roxann Mingos, Joseph (Cindy) Sargeant, Jr., John (Heather) Sargeant, Beth Ann (Dan) Chamberlain; fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren, and her bird, Birdie. Luella was preceded in death by a great grandson, Joshua Spencer, on May 10, 2000, three sisters, Viola ODell, Villa Bills and Norma Gardener, and a grandson-in-law, David Mingos.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the viewing at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Pepper officiating.
