Ida Rounsaville

Obituary of Ida Juanelda Rounsaville

With great sadness, we share the passing of Ida Juanelda "Nelle" Rounsaville, on April 20, 2022. Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Nelle was born in Yoakum County, Texas in their country home to parents, Mearl and Laura (Lee) Rounsaville, on November 28, 1941. Growing up and living in California, she was married and had two girls: Tamara Kim (Perkins) Soderberg and Lori Allyson (Perkins) Long. There, she was an active member of the Church of Christ and some of her fondest memories were during the summertime, serving as a church counselor for the Yosemite Bible Camp. She then returned to her native Texas, where she became a flight attendant for Braniff International and then with Northwest Orient Airlines which later became Delta Airlines. After meeting and marrying her handsome pilot, she quickly adapted to wonderful Wellsboro, his hometown. Nelle's greatest enjoyment was creating cozy, luxurious homes with magnificent gardens for all to enjoy. Thanks to her natural talent and hard work, she owned and operated bed and breakfasts in the area for over twenty years. The guests came as strangers but left as friends. Her home was always a welcome retreat for all during good times and bad. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always looked forward to visits to Nanny's, where they said her beds were like "sleeping in chocolate". She was also the proprietor of the famous Wellsboro Diner and Lambs Creek Food and Spirits in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. No public service will be held as it was Nelle's wish to be remembered the way she lived her life – with joy, happiness, compassion for her fellow man and love for her family. She will be missed by all, especially her fur baby, Lizzy. Donations may be made to: Yosemite Bible Camp, in honor of Nelle Rounsaville, Attn: Jim Minor 4014 E.
