Obituary of Paul W. Thornton
Paul W. Thornton, age 89, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. He was born on July 18, 1932, in Portville, NY, a son of Weston and Alice (Olsen) Thornton. Paul was the husband of Arloween (Adams) Thornton with whom he would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 14. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean war, and later retired as the owner of his own business. Paul was a member of the Bakerburg Community Church in Mainesburg, PA.
Paul is survived by his daughter Paula (Thomas) Doak of Pine Valley, NY; son, Ronald (Donna) Thornton of Strongsville, OH; son, Philip (Paula) Thornton of Murrysville, PA; son, Jeffrey (Marea) Thornton of Mansfield, PA; daughter Jennifer Thornton of Wilmington, NC; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Alan Thornton, who passed away in 1989.
Friends and family are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Bakerburg Community Church, 197 Gray Valley Rd., Mainesburg, PA. A celebration of Paul's life will immediately follow at 11:00 with Pastor Paul Binkley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bakerburg Community Church.
