Obituary of John J. O'Donnell
John J. ODonnell, age 79, of Millerton, PA, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at his home. John was the husband of Joan K. (McHenry) ODonnell. He was born March 28, 1929 in Hazelton, PA, a son of Cletus and Mary (Walsh) ODonnell. John was employed as a security guard at Ward Manufacturing. He had retired from U.S. Steel after 40 years of service, worked as a security guard at A & P, and umpired college Legion baseball. He was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield, and a member of the American Legion. John was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in WWII.
John is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Harold (Kathy) ODonnell of Levittown, PA, Richard ODonnell of Drifton, PA, Daniel ODonnell of West Virginia, Kevin (Ann) ODonnell of Drifton, PA, Patricia ODonnell of Fairless Hills, PA, and Darren ODonnell at home; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Molly (Anthony) Plitnik of Hazelton, PA, Helen ODonnell of Hazelton, PA, Sarah Dicusata of Wilmington, DE; a step-children, Linnedee (Lynn) Geiser of Coudersport, PA, LeAnn Jorrett of Hatboro, PA, Faymarie (Arthur) Gerstenmaier of Langhorne, PA, Joseph (Judy) Przepioski of Laurel Springs, NJ, Michael Przepioski of Levittown, PA, Sean (Patricia) Peterson of Levittown, PA; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a step-son, Kevin Przepioski.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Child Catholic Church, 245 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Jacek Bialkowski as celebrant. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Millerton, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Darren ODonnell Educational Fund, c/o First Citizens National Bank, 15 S.
