Obituary of Sylvia Smith
Sylvia J. Smith, age 68, of Lindley, NY, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. She was born on October 27 , 1953 in Wellsboro, PA, the daughter of Stanley Shabloski and Annette (Losinger) Wakley. Sylvia was married to Wayne F. Smith. She was a compression station operator for Dominon Energy. Sylvia enjoyed Quilters Guilds, painting, fly fishing, and her camp on Pine Creek.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Wayne; her mother, Annette Wakley of Painted Post, NY; a son, Eric (Hollie) Lyon of Lindley, NY; three grandchildren, Anthony (Kalie) Lyon, Dakota Lyon, Allison Lyon; a great grandson, Kellan Lyon; and two brothers, John (Linda) Bailey of Painted Post, NY, and Joseph (Jessica) Bailey of Caton, NY. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Bailey; and her father.
Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 1-2pm at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will follow at 2pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Scheetz Sew Creative 667 Round Top Rd. Wellsboro, PA 16901.
