Obituary of Janet Irene Cushing
Janet Irene Cushing, age 70, of Silver Springs, FL, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2021, at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, FL. She was born on March 15, 1951, in Wellsboro, PA, a daughter of Harry and Margaret (Jackson) Mores. Janet was the wife of the late Virgil E. Cushing, who passed away in 2011. She was a member of the Loyal Moose, Eagle Club, and Alice's Fan Club in Silver Springs, FL. Janet enjoyed her dogs Bengie and Daisy, decorating her house and yard, playing cards and bingo, Friday fish fry, and Saturday steak dinner. She also loved to shop. Janet worked for Flickengers for many years and retired from Deka Battery.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Craig) Styer of Shoemakersville, PA; two granddaughters, Macala and Mackenzie; a sister, JoAnne Rockwell of Tioga, PA; and sisters-in-law, Marlene Beore, Gloria McConnell, Jeanie Passeri, Pauline Six and Penny Cushing. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Martha Burrows; brothers-in-law Maynard, Ronnie and Kenny Cushing; and sister-in-law Sandra Thorpe.
Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 12-1pm at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. Burial will take place in Jobs Corners Cemetery in Millerton, PA.
