Hazel Atkinson was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, and friend who positively influenced so many people in some way or another. We are all blessed to acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that her life was to everyone, and the pain that her passing brings. In sharing the joy and the pain together, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy.
A mother is the seat of love, caring, and compassion for a child and others. A mother is the person to whom we look to first in any situation. Everyone was blessed to have known Hazel for so long and to have benefited from her unselfish and caring nature. Traditionally, we rarely express our gratitude for someone. Hazel made sure everyone always knew how much she cared. She was an incredible person, and everyone was so lucky to have been associated with her and part of her life for 90+ years.
I personally, want to share my gratitude to her and on behalf of so many thank her for all she did through the many, many years. When I was a young man, I wasn’t always the best influence, but was always a good person and always there for my best friend of 50+ years Larry. I still am today! Hazel trusted me to always do the right thing and to always make sure Larry got home safely! Now I am confident that Hazel will be looking over not just Larry, but her entire family, as a guardian angel to watch over everyone that she loved so dearly!
Hazel gave nothing but good and kind gestures, and in return she received goodness and kindness. I think that is how we will all remember her!
Thank you and may God bless her soul!
Sincerely ~ Douglas Walker
