Obituary of Barbara Jane Greenlaw
Barbara J (Mein) Greenlaw
Age 73, born March 2, 1948, the daughter of the Reverend Edward and Ethyl (Tilden) Mein, who after a protracted illness, went home to be with her Lord on December 4, 2021.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Ethyl Mein, brothers John (Barbara), Edward (Madeline), Carl (Joan), William (Katherine) and one grandson, Camden Burdett Brock Greenlaw.
She is survived by her husband, the Reverend Laurie Greenlaw to whom she was married for 51 years, her son, Brock Greenlaw and daughter Lori Denise (Greenlaw) Hultz. She was grandmother to Cara (Josh) Lewis, Paige (Trevor) Felenchak, Lorelei, Serenity and Simon Greenlaw, Nicholas, Joshua and Joel Hultz and great grandmother to Axel Lewis and several nephews and cousins.
After graduating from Kingswood University, she and her husband served the Wesleyan Church for 46 years, pastoring in Lunenburg NS, Waterford and Long Lake NY and finally at Millerton PA.
Until her health failed, she enthusiastically served both Children's and Women's ministries, and when her health began to decline, she remained as active as possible. Spiritually, she was a pacesetter as a prayer warrior, a woman of unshakeable faith and as a student of the Bible. Her list of close friends is considerable, and she was known to always look for the best in others' lives. Though she seldom sang in public, she had an uniquely wonderful gift of singing unscripted harmony.
During the several years of physical challenges, she seldom complained while eagerly striving to recover. Her faith and trust in God stayed firm and her attitude became an inspiration to others. Her family have repeatedly called her either "the energizer bunny" or the "Timex that takes a beating and keeps on ticking."
Barbara enjoyed travelling to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Maine, the PA Amish area and wherever our car or truck and trailer could take her. Barbara was widely acclaimed as an accomplished hostess.
Friends are invited to Millerton Wesleyan Church, Millerton PA on Thursday, December 30 for visitation at 10:00 AM and her Memorial Service at 11:00.
Internment will take place at a yet to be determined time. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
