Obituary of James K. Hammond
James K. Hammond, age 87, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He was born on November 7, 1934 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of Keith and Sarah (Sears) Hammond. James owned and operated Bonanza, West's, and Brott's and enjoyed bartending at the Woodshed. He also enjoyed gambling, going to the donut shop, spending time with family, and going on vacation.
James is survived by his daughters, Jeana Orr, Colena Hammond of VA, and Jaymie (Scott Kshir) Hammond of Covington, PA; four grandchildren, Haylie Hammond, Mariana Kshir, Shalane (James) Willis, and Brooks Orr; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Yahn of NJ, Judy (James) Frey of Horseheads, NY, and Jane (James) Russell of Nichols, NY; and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Wen Yahn.
Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 1-2pm at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield. A funeral will follow at 2pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Roseville United Methodist Church 4118 Route 549 Mansfield, PA 16933.
