Obituary of Georgia Sargent

Georgia (Wicks) Sargent, age 85, of Tioga, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA of chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. She was born on October 12, 1935, in Wellsboro, PA, a daughter of Robert and Virginia (Cavanaugh) Wicks. Georgia was the wife of the late Robert Sargent. She previously worked at Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY, the A&P Plant in Big Flats, NY, and Kuhl's Flowers in Mansfield, PA. Georgia loved doing yard work and watching MSNBC (for real). She has joined her heavenly family and is in no more pain. Georgia is survived by her children Doreen (Gary) Burnside of Tioga, PA, John (Jaime) DeWitt of Mainesburg, PA, Bill (Dena) DeWitt of Fountain, CO; grandchildren Kristopher Bolt (Sarah Schroeder) of Corning, NY, Eric Bolt (Amanda Warren) of Lawrenceville, PA, Nichole DeWitt of Towanda, PA, Katie DeWitt of Towanda, PA, Sean Carroll (Yuri Oullette) of Richmond, VA, William (Lynn) Carroll of Springvale, ME, Matthew (Andre Londono) Carroll of Delray Beach, FL, and Betina Carroll of Coral Springs, FL; great grandchildren, Breanna (Tim) Heck, Brennan, Elijah, Kaden, Matthew, Makenzie, Bentley, Lonnie, John, Klara, Ethan, Cynthia, William, Finnegan, Josephine, Reilly, Savea, and Elise; great great grandson, Sevi Apollo Heck; siblings Patricia Shaut of Tioga, PA, James (JoAnn) Wicks of Granville Summit, PA, Sharon Kizer of Mansfield, PA, Linda (Carl) Chapel of Tioga, PA, Frank Wicks of Wellsboro, PA, Peggy (Mike) Boyce of Blossburg, PA, and Rickey (Fe) Wicks of Tioga, PA; special cousin Butch (Deb) Sherman of Mansfield, PA, numerous Wicks and Cavanaugh nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; infant siblings, Lawrence, Doreen, and Dennis; brothers, Donald and Robert; sister, Virginia "Ginnie" Wicks; special cousins, Betty Lou (Sherman) Stone and Myron Tongue; niece, Terry (Mattison) Kreger. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kaplan, the hospice workers, and the staff at Broad Acres for their understanding and care. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 AM to noon on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 6 Broad Street, Tioga, PA. A life celebration will immediately follow at noon with Rev. Judi Hulslander and Lester Kreger officiating. The family requests that masks be worn by all visitors and attendees. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
