I extend my deep sympathy to the family. Joe probably didn't know my name but I knew his after moving to this area. He was a greeter at Walmart with the most pleasant smile and very welcoming voice and made people fell they had really been welcomed to his home (He could whistle a good tune also). I had a vew conversations with him as many shoppers did. I know he had the friendship and respect of the people in this area. I'm sure he will be missed by many but not forgotten.
Sincerely,
Mary Anne Reisler (Walmart shopper)

Please accept my deep and heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your Father, Grandpa and Brother. You had a very special man who loved you all SO much! Joe was a dear and treasured friend of mine…who I met again when he became a greeter at Walmart. We had so many wonderful visits, and I would have to excuse myself so he could get back to work. I will miss him and his friendship. RIP JOE…Fly high with the Angels! Thanks for the memories!

I was one of the fortunate ones that worked with Joe at Walmart. I always enjoyed listening to his stories from his time in the Korean War and as a Pennsylvania state trooper. I made sugar cookies one time and brought some in for him. I visited him a time or two at his house after he retired. He will be greatly missed. Prayers for the family.

In my 25 years of PSP service, Joe Cole was my favorite corporal. You couldnt find a better man or a kinder supervisor. Rest in peace, Corp...and thanks for helping this young rookie trooper get started on the path of a phenomenal PSP career back in the early 80's.

Joe Farthing…We distinctly remember you being on duty with Corporal Cole one evening when you paid a visit to our Blossburg home during a Kiwanis Christmas gathering. Needless to say, there was dead silence when the two of you walked down the steps in uniform. You just came to eat! We are glad that you had the opportunity to work with Corporal Cole, and be a part of our community! We know Joe enjoyed you! Those were the good old days!

Dear Joanie and Patty, I will miss seeing your Father's smiling face around town. I will always cherish the time spent in the ambulance with him, as he was a wonderful driver for our many trips together helping the sick and injured. One time going into Arnot Ogden Hospital he missed the left turn into the hospital and ended up in Woodlawn Cemetery. The patient looked out the window, saw where we were and said in a very loud voice "I don't think I'm ready for this yet". Joe heard it and said "I'll just turn around and go back, just missed the turn". Patient was relieved to hear that.
