Obituary of Raymond L. Peterson
Raymond L. Peterson, Jr., age 82, of Millerton, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Corning Hospital. He was born on December 28, 1938 in Elmira, NY, the son of Raymond and Ada (Corey) Peterson. Raymond was married to his wife, Bertha (Pallone) Peterson for 61 years. He worked for Kennedy Valve in Elmira, NY for 25 years. Raymond was a fan of auto racing, taking long drives, trying new things, working on things, and traveling. He traveled to all 50 states and many national parks.
Raymond is survived by his wife; two sons, Le Peterson of Austin, TX, and El Peterson of Big Flats, NY; two daughters, Vera Burrows of Millerton, PA, and Lori Richards of Schuylkill Haven, PA; grandchildren, Nathan, Jason, and Jonathan Burrows of Millerton, PA, Joseph (Alex) and Nickolas White of Schuylkill Haven, PA, Scott (Erinn) Peterson of Wellsboro, PA, James Peterson, Kimberleigh (Joseph) Okonski of Painted Post, NY; great grandchildren, Anna and Samuel Okonski of Painted Post, NY, Miranda, Ian, McKenna; and his close friend, Douglas (Charlotte) Brown of Millerton, PA.
In honoring Raymond's wishes, there will be no services. He wanted everyone to remember him as they knew him. Memorial contributions can be made to Steele Memorial Library 101 E. Church St. Elmira, NY 14901. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
