Obituary of Lester Royal Gregory
Lester R. Gregory, age 81, of Mansfield, PA, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 28, 2021. He was born on January 21, 1940, in Bitumen, PA, a son of Max and Esther (Stenman) Gregory. Lester was the husband of Aleta (Williams) Gregory with whom he shared 56 years of matrimony. He was self-employed as a truck driver for many years and was involved in building the Tioga/Hammond Dam. Lester was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of the Lewisburg American Legion. He loved trout fishing.
Lester is survived by his wife, Aleta; a son, Neil Gregory of Tioga, PA; a daughter and daughter-in-law Cristol and Pamela Grey of Winthrop, MA; grandchildren Michael Doud and Alexander Cooke. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Conser, and two brothers, Robert "Gundy" and Carl "Tuti" Gregory.
Lester's ashes will be scattered at Wolf Creek Pass, CO. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Lester's name to Trout Unlimited (www.tu.org). Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA is assisting the family.
